Well today over at 365cards is a challenge for vintage + stickpin. Well if you happen to have read my earlier post that was yesterdays challenge, you would know that I don't have vintage stuff floating around my office/craft room. Well when I got out of class this morning, I (shhhhhh, shhhhhh) went shopping! I did get a few sheets of paper that I would classify in this category. I also got the cute little tickets, and the sheer shimmer spritz. Oh, I fell in love

(which is not entirely unusual in Hobby Lobby)! I never used the spritz before, I think I may have went a little overboard. Live and Learn. I did, however, already have the pens and flowers, and filmstrip that you can make out on either side of my flower group. Vintage wasn't my style, but with a few added items it's not bad at all.

Over at 365cards was a sketch challenge.

Here is my submission.

Wow! The sketch didn't say it had to be vintage, but I wanted to try it. This was a considerable challenge since that is normally not my style and I do NOT have anything vintage style! So after a few tries this is what I finally came up with. The paper is the same sheet, patterned one side, solid on the other. I grabbed some lace and grungeboard (the key and the green and black thing behind the flowers. Painted the "leaves" green with scrapbooking colors and inked w/ some black to make is look antiqued. The key I inked up with versamark and embossed with bronze embossing powder, put some black on it also. The keyhole I drew on and embossed the same as the key, and drew the hole on top of the embossed area.

The following card was a thanks card for a friend of my family, my children mostly, they ended up with quite a close relationship. The stamp is a digi from Dustin Pike. The 2 leaves are actually stickers that i thought added a little more to the card. I also added some ribbon with 2 leaf brads.

This ladybug card was for my niece who turned 1. I stamped and embossed the ladybugs, colored the wings with copic marker and added a computer generated message and some ribbon on 2 corners.

Cherish was a simple card for a wedding that we went to in the early fall. The top is patterned paper that simply did the trick in my book. I added 3 rhinestones in 2 of the corners. Took a ribbon and dragged out my sewing machine! I think the yellow thread gave the card just enough color. The stamp cherish I embossed with black sparkle embossing powder.

I finished these last night and found out this morning that they fit perfectly into todays http://www.365cards.blogspot.com/ challenge for day 256. The challenge is to use 3 different stamps using 3 different inks on those stamps. Done!

I found some hot chocolate packets that are Chocolate Mint and Chocolate Caramel. I thought those could make some cute gifts for the kids teachers, principle and secretary at their school. So I placed one of each packet in a ziplock baggie and made the topper for the bag. The snowman in a hot chocolate cup is a digital stamp from Dustin Pike (Once again, I just love his work). Of course my printer ink is black. I colored these with my copics and primacolor markers.

I put the digital image onto scrapbooking paper with some ribbon. Placed directions on the back of the labels and cut tags. Put a stamp on the directions and stamped the snowflakes on the tags and wrote the names of the receivers on each tag. Simple to do, didn't cost alot of money and hopefully they will enjoy their hot chocolate when recieved.

August challenge - inspired by your own blog. The ribbon in knots is on the edges of my blog. Just wait for the peach color to turn brownish. If you scroll down to where the top isn't faded it is easier to see.

September challenge - quite a pair. Blossom and a brad in the center of your card. I counted this as one element since it was part of the challenge.

October challenge - Friday pick 5. Pick any 5 items for your card. 1. patterned paper 2. digi stamp from Dustin Pike 3. copic markers 4. ribbon 5. flower with brad. This is what I was talking about counting the blossom and brad as one.

Distressing

This card was made for my kids great grandma. Distressing is something I normally shy away from because I'm afraid of messing it up. Over at www.365cards.blogspot.com the challenge is to pull out a technique that you normally don't do.

Fall birthday card

Over at http://365cards.blogspot.com/ day 223 is ad inspired. Heidi picked the ad below. As you can tell I have pumpkins and leaves and of course the fall colors since thats what pumpkin season makes me think of. This birthday card will be going to my mother in law since Monday is her birthday. At least she doesn't look on this blog! Update: October 11. This card made the card of the week over at 365 cards. Yippee! First time I ever won something for my creations.
