cake

Although the icing in the pic looks purple I assure you that it is white. My camera on my cell phone does not take pictures that look great but sometimes I'm just lazy to grab the other camera. My MIL fav color is yellow so I chose yellow roses. Hopefully she will like it.

cupcakes

This is for day 224 over at http://365cards.blogspot.com/ . The sketch is from http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/. It also qualifies for http://pileitonchallenge.blogspot.com/ challenge # 18.

This card I made last night for my MIL birthday which is today.

Happy Birthday turtle w/ balloon

Season's Greetings

At http://365cards.blogspot.com/ for day 190 was to follow a sketch. This is very simple, I'm letting the papers do all the hard work for me.

bookmark "cards"

These are for my kids. There is a quote on them, "Education is not received. It is achieved." Then I wrote Have a great school year! Love, Mom.

At 365cards the challenge today was to make a card do double duty. Well, mine are bookmarks!

toile~~ Happy Anniversary

This poor quality photo is from my camera, once again too lazy to get my bottom downstairs just to grab a camera for quality sake! This is for 365cards for Saturdays Day 168. It is late, but I really wanted to do this challenge.

information update

I have neglected my gsd files more than I've wanted. With family, life and simply everyday occurances I am no longer going to offer my files. I regret not putting enough hours into my files to regularly turn them out. College is starting up again also, with everything going on there is just simply enough time within a day to accomplish what I feel I would like to get done. This blog will remain open for my cards (since those do not take up as much time) and the few scrapbooking pages that do get accomplished. Sorry if this affects anyone for the negative.

A little bit of catching up

I know Ive been MIA lately. Sorry about that. But here is a few things that Ive been up to.

Im finally through with Wiltons Course 1 cake decorating class. Im now signed up for the Wiltons fondant and gumpaste one that will start next week, (hopefully enough people will have signed up). This was the second cake. The first got cut up before a picture was taken.

This rose cake was the last one for this course. I think my roses came out quite well for them being my first ones!

Ive also made a few baby shower cards for another SIL. her shower will be next weekend. My MIL took the green one, and my other soon to be SIL took the plaid to give away.

If you look closely at the pic, you will find the pacifer, bottle and the safety pin.

This one is harder to make out in the picture. the sentiment says, "you're expecting! so happy for you". I hand wrote "before" and "after"

Happy Birthday card w/ deer

this card will be for my husband to glance at and my father in law to keep. my husbands birthday is this coming thurs. and he really is not a card person. in fact he could really care less about getting anything, let alone a card. Ill keep the inside clean and he will glance at it and then the following week is my father in laws birthday so I will write inside and give it to him. Hey it works for us. I feel good about giving my husband a card and my father in law loves my homemade cards, so at least he appreciates them. This card wraps up a few challenges... At 365cards the challenge was to look at a pic and let it inspire you. Well I have to say that I was barely inspired for this particular card. I needed a male card so the cake in the picture make me think of a birthday cake. So here is my birthday card. At mojomonday I followed the sketch for the week. At pileiton it was to make it different, use at least 3 different embellies. Mine are ribbon, a staple, and the green flower. Hope you like it, I really think my father in law will, since he loves hunting those deer.

....Happy Birthday

Over at 365cards the challenge was to use lavender. Everything here is a shade of purple except obviously the red, white, and black. Hopefully this will meet the criteria. Also used on the stamped image was silver stickles, crystal stickles, and liquid pearls. Image was colored in with copic markers.

Love is in the air

over at 365cards the challenge today was a wedding card with the word love in the sentiment. Well here is contribution. I used a card base, printed out my pic onto white cardstock, colored that in with prisma markers and copic markers. The shiny parts are with my sakura star dust pen. I used basic grey on the bottom running a "tool" (i don't know the name of it) to punch the 5 rows of little punches and then printed off the "Love is in the air!" using A&S Black Swan font. Tied a bow in the corner.

Fathers Day card

this is the card that will be going to my father in law. For some reason I'm really liking this card. the coloring was also very theraputic.

Hot

http://www.4shared.com/file/112743413/e5805455/Hot___MMM.html

embroidery applique elephant

This blanket is for this little guy. Obviously, his name is Maverick. He was born on Mothers Day. He is my nephew by marriage. This pic was taken a couple of days after his birth with my son, Kaleb (6). His room is elephants and such, so that explains the elephant. I just gave him new life with the polka dots and the different colored thread. The image is on one corner of the fleece blanket and the blanket is big enough to cover him when he is a toddler and such. I have made several kids these blankets. I guess its kind of a trade mark now.
BTW this is the little guy that got to wear the WILL YOU MARRY MY DADDY? onsie, and will get to wear the others also. Just in case anyone is wondering, the momma said yes!

Target Practice

here is the link for just the target practice with the target. the gun is from the turkey hunter file that is already on 4shared. hopefully someone will be able to use this for boys or grown men practicing either on the range with a gun or bow and arrow. It may also work on little boys throwing rocks or something.

embroidery on onesis

My brother in law had a few requests. So I dug out my embroidery machine and away I went. I haven't used it for awhile. I have made quilts with it and decorated different things. I use to do some for different people making a little extra cash. I might see about drumming up so business and do this again. I know I have soooo much free time. LOL. Its only a smaller household one. It is not made to tackle any big thick stuff. I have done towels and sweatshirts, nothing any heavier. It can be quite fun though.

Just a little note

at 365 cards the challenge today is to keep everything in the middle, here is my version. This is suppose to be the cactus wren on a cactus.

Friday, May 29, 2009

Congrats on your boy

365cards The challenge today was to only use 2 colors. I thing my baby blue and brown go well together. Although the pic looks more of a teal for my paper. It is baby blue!

Your so cute together

Guess what? Another card for 365cards. One may never have seen this coming. I am really getting into this card thing, and these challenges. For this card I was worried about the sakura star dust pen not showing up in the kisses very well. My camera picked it up beautifully. A perfect time for this challenge. My youngest brother in law is going to pick out a ring for his girlfriend, or baby's mommy, this weekend. Their son is only 3 weeks old so they have a lot on their plate. They have lived together for a while, so I think I already know the answer.

Hi There!

On 365 today the challenge is to use a watermelon image or at least colors of a watermelon. Here is my take on the challenge.

Tuesday, May 26, 2009

Eye can see clearly now

At 365 Cards here is the challenge.
Day 87 - The "Eyes" Have it Sounds like a strange challenge, doesn't it? Use the word "eye" somewhere on your card.
I read this and said no way, today is not for me. Then a couple of hours later the card just flew into my head and I got to work on it.

Kindergarten pictures

The link Here. I used this on a collage of my daughters photos that grandpa took to get the lighting right before some seniors were to arrive for there pictures. Needless to say these photos look like Senior Portraits.

Get Well Soon

Here is todays card for 365 cards. Have your primary color purple and use at least 5 circles. I think the circle brads count as my circles, at least I hope.

Good Luck

This card is for 365 cards. I distressed and inked the edges and followed yesterdays formula for the card. The good luck and the white swirly thingy is rub ons.

Dance

As if one is not able to tell that I use this mat a lot. LOL. http://www.4shared.com/file/107361970/f7c1c7fe/dance___MMM.html I am hopeful that someone will be able to use this file. Although I personally will be sending it to a friend for one of her daughters.

Happy Day

The challenge over at 365 cards was to create a 3x3 card and use 1 flower, 1 brad, 1 piece of ribbon and 1 stamped sentiment. NO PATTERN PAPER! Here is what I came up with. It is down right simple but follows the rules.

Hang in there

Here is a card that I made, I love it when things just seem to go so right. I have fallen in love with this card. I know it is simple BUT I just love this little monkey. Once again this is a digi stamp from here . Once again I also used the brayering technique from here . I used copics and prismas to color him in and embossed him with a clear embossing powder.

Mothers day

Well this is what my mother-in-law will be getting for mothers day. The card actually says For You. Inside is where it says happy mothers day. Even though the colors do not look like they match, they do. For some reason, lighting, camera, or maybe me, some reason it does not look like it. I used my scrapbooking supply on the picture collage. The picture frame actually says
These grandchildren hold their Grandparents hearts in their little hands.
Now she will have a special frame just for her grandchildren.

Aim High

The Aim High part is actually a total different set, so it can be used with or without the rocket. I personally just glued mine together because I liked it.
Well my schooling is now done for the summer. I decided I needed that much needed break. Oh my do I deserve it. Hopefully now (unless something else happens -- hold breath) I should be able to start doing what I like again.

Happy birthday

Here is a card that I made over the weekend for a friend of my boys'. They had a thrill at his birthday party. The happy birthday is just a printed font off the computer. The dragon and kite is a digi stamp from here. I love his digi stamps. This one just happens to be free on his blog. Check it out. I got lazy on coloring the pic. I used paint and colored it all in and printed it out that way. I think it still turned out cute though.

Here is a card I made for a friend of mine in my Math class. I brayered it using Zindorf's techniques. You can find it here.

Turkey Hunter

WhooHoo! I'm finally back with the living. Hopefully someone out there will be able to use this file. Here in Indiana turkey season started Wednesday. My husband went this morning and will be going again soon. Hopefully I'll be able to make more files here shortly. I only have 2 more weeks of school before my summer break!

Update

Just to let you all know, I was planning on spending more time on files whenever I could. But however my life didn't allow it. My computer crashed, they said it was the hard drive. Since it is still under warranty they sent a new hard drive. To our dismise that did not cure our ailment. Now we have to send our computer back to the manufacture and see if they can fix it. We bought this computer in September of 2008, so I'm a little frustrated. But even more frustrated that I have to go elsewhere to even complete my homework. Just thought I would let everyone know that I'm not abandoning you on purpose.
